Lasell - how interesting, thanks for this post. In researching for my book, I learned about EAGALA, which is basically horse therapy. I'd guess you already know about it, and I love how what you write here enhances my understanding of how it works.
I'm curious now about your book and your research. EAGALA I believe is an approach for equine facilitated learning (EFL), which is different from equine facilitated psychotherapy (EFP). In any case, both include horses. You might be interested in my "mostly a memoir" because I write about my personal experiences with my horses as well as my experiences with therapeutic riding programs and their horses. I'd be happy to chat with you sometime as well.
I'd love to read your memoir, Lasell. Where can I get it? Also, yes, let's chat some time. Here's my email address so we can set something up - carol @ caroldmarsh . com
An interesting perspective and one that makes so much sense to me. My co-workers have learned to never ask me for a weather report when I come to work in the afternoon. I usually say it's not too bad, kind of cool, but refreshing! They tell me I'm unreliable because I'm acclimated to the weather even if it's minus something. But, I have often thought how wonderful to have an excuse to go outside in any sort of weather because we have horses. It's saved me, I believe.

I’ll email - look forward to a chat. Getting Along with Rusty is available online through B&N and Amazon.
Absolutely 100% agree :-)
